COVID-19

Access to the History Faculty Building

Current accessibility at the Faculty is extremely limited. In adhering to risk assessment and regulations around COVID-19, the Faculty is currently only open to provide limited small group teaching, essential onsite IT maintenance and occasional administrative work which cannot be remotely conducted.  Unfortunately this means that the Common Room and kitchen are not available for students to use at the current time.

Get tested twice, then twice a week

You are expected to get tested for COVID-19 when you return to Oxford (or at the start of term if you didn’t leave during the vacation). Your college will provide you with two Lateral Flow Device (LFD) tests to take yourself.

Regular symptom-free (LFD) testing

After these initial tests, you are strongly encouraged to get tested twice a week, every week at the new symptom-free (LFD) testing centres. There will be three centres in easy-to-access sites around Oxford. They’re opening from 12 April, and will follow strict safety measures.  You can book online (even if you’re not yet in Oxford), and you should aim to get tested on the same days each week, e.g. Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. Go to the symptom-free testing webpage to book, and for more information.

As well as helping to protect others by detecting whether you have COVID-19 before you develop symptoms, you could also win prizes worth £25 each week from local businesses by entering the free prize draw every time you test.
